to check the switch while it is wired to your scooter simply use a volt meter. If you have voltage when checking both connection points on the switch the it is defective. If the switch is disconnected you can check the switch with an ohm meter. Turn the switch off and check both sides of the switch if you have no reading or your digital meter reads OL then the switch is functioning correctly. To check the motor disconnect the two wires from the motor and use an ohm meter. Touching one lead to each wire you should read some type of resistance or ohms. If you do not then your motor has burned out. Also be aware these scooters are equipped with over load thermal protection switches. You simply press the button to reset the breaker in them. I had an issue with the black control box in my daughters E175 and repaired it in the same manner as the author of this article. Good luck to you all and hope this tid bit of info helped you out.
