Jujube Nutrients and Health Benefits

Jujube Photo Provided By Marco Schmidt at Wikipedia

In this article I’d like to introduce you to a research I did on a fruit called Jujube, binomially speaking Ziziphus zizyphus. Other names which people refer to this Jujube fruit are Jujuba, Red Date, Korean Date, Indian Date, or Chinese Date. Be advised that this is not the typical date fruit which grows on a palm tree, but if you would like to know more about those other dates, then read my older article called Dates Fruit Nutrients and Health Benefits.

The Jujube tree is considered to be a small tree even though it grows up to 10 meters (or almost 33 feet) high. It has thorny branches and it’s usually grown for shading purposes. If you expect your Jujube tree to provide lots of good fruits make sure to plant it in a hot sunny place and with sufficient water source. Continue reading

Dates Fruit Nutrients and Health Benefits

Dates Fruits.

Have ever heard of a fruit called Date? Not as time date, but Date as a name of an actual fruit. I’ve never heard of these fruits until recently some of friends and family started talking about them and even letting me try some. Their taste, look, and feel somewhat reminds me of raisins only in a tripled or quadrupled size. Dates have an elongated shape. Continue reading

100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path laid out before him that wouldn’t end well- with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn’t far behind. Apples Nutrients and Health Benefits

Apple and Apple Flowers in a basket.I decided to write a new and updated article post for a typical apple fruit. The older article can be found here, it was called Apple Nutrients and Benefits. An Apple in Russian look like this Яблоко, and you would pronounce it like this Yabloko. Apple’s Binomial name is Malus Domestica from the family of Rosaceae. Apple trees can grow as high as 39 feet (or 12 meters). Apple’s seeds are called pips.

Apple fruit is extremely popular throughout the world. For instance in 2005 at least 55 million tonnes of apples were grown worldwide, which value is about ten billion dollars. In 2008 the top ten apple producing countries were China, USA, Iran, Turkey, Russia, Italy, India, France, Chile, and Argentina.

Some people claim that the apple’s seeds are slightly poisonous, but on the other hand many people still eat them and claim that they are very healthy instead. As far as I know don’t overdose on apple’s seeds and you should be fine, but it’s totally up to you if you want to risk eating them. After reading and listening to people’s and scientists’ reviews on fruits’ seeds I came to conclusion that most the seeds contain Vitamin B17 (also called Laetrile or Amygdaline) which is the cure and prevention of most or all cancers. At the same time it is very easy to overdose on seeds, so just estimate how many fruits you could eat at one time and that is how much seeds should be safe for you to consume. Big medicine companies and some hospitals don’t want you to know about the Vitamin B17 because you can save lots of money by curing or preventing cancer by yourself. To find out more about Vitamin B17 read my older article called One of the Best Anti-cancers – Vitamin B17.

There are researches that suggest that apples can help reduce the risk of Prostate Cancer, Colon Cancer, and Lung Cancer. At the same time apples may decrease the cholesterol levels, prevent dementia, and prevent overweight problems. The Nutrients of one medium raw apple with skin which is about 3 inches in diameter and weighs about 182 grams are: Continue reading

Pear Nutrients and Health Benefits

Pears in BasketPear fruit is pretty popular throughout the world. Its Scientific Genus name is Pyrus and there are about 30 different species. This year our Pear tree bloomed with lots of beautiful white flowers, but when I came up to smell them I was surprised. The beautiful white flowers on our pear tree smelled like crap, seriously, they smelled like poop. Another weird thing about our Pear tree is that it’s blooming and growing just fine even better than before, while our apple, apricot, and plum trees are suffering from some kind of a problem. Many people claimed that for the last two years this problem is either nation-wide in USA or even world-wide. Some say it’s because of frost and some say it’s because of the disappearance of bees. I think it’s both of those issues plus something that we probably don’t know about yet.

It’s very interesting how people prefer to eat pears at different ripening times. Some like to eat pears when they are fully ripened which is when they are very yellow, very sweet, juicy, and pretty soft. I like to eat pears when they are still green, pretty sweet, not very juicy, and pretty hard. Have you noticed how the seeds in pears taste yummier than in apples? I did… I like that the seeds are kind of sour and easy to chew, because seeds are very important for our health boost and for preventing/curing cancer. Also, as a reminder this is an updated post for my earlier Pears Nutrients and Benefits article post.

One Raw Medium Pear can contain these Nutrients: Continue reading

Coconut Meat Nutrients and Health Benefits

Coconut Meat.I recently posted an article about Coconut Oil Nutrients and Health Benefits, and now I decided to post about the white chewy part of the Coconut which is called Coconut Meat. Coconuts grow on a large palm tree called Cocos Nucifera. They can grow up to 98 feet (30 meters) high. One tall Coconut tree could produce about 75 Coconuts in one year. An old fashioned spelling of the Coconut word was Cocoanut but now it is changed to Coconut. Coconuts are popularly used for Domestic, Industrial, and Commercial purposes. If you would like to check out Coconut related products at Amazon, then just click Here. The Nutrients in one cup (or 80 grams) of Raw Shredded Coconut Meat are: Continue reading

Strawberries Nutrients and Health Benefits

StrawberriesSince I pretty much have all or most of the popular fruits, vegetables, nuts, and meats in my blog collection, I decided to update some of the very first ones. My earlier article posts weren’t as detailed, full, and interesting as newer ones. The reason for that is because I’m noticing that I got some more and some better experience in writing about the Nutrients and Health Benefits of different kinds of foods. So, this article is going to be an update of my older article post about Strawberries Nutrients and Benefits. Only I’ll give this article a little bit different title, let’s call it Strawberries Nutrients and Health Benefits.

Did you know that Strawberries are not really considered as berries? It’s because the red yummy part of the strawberry is called a Receptacle. Botanically speaking, Receptacle is the thick part of a stem from which flower’s organs grow, but in the strawberries the Receptacle gives the rise to the red edible part. The seeds of the Strawberry are called Achenes. Achenes are a type of a simple dry fruit. In other words, Strawberries are considered as an Aggregate Accessory Fruit. Continue reading

Quince Fruit Nutrients and Health Benefits

Quince FruitQuince fruit or Cydonia Oblonga is a pear-shaped fruit that grows on a Quince tree that is similar to apples and pears. Some people referred or still refer to Quince as The Golden Apple. Quince trees produce beautiful white or pink flowers. According to some people’s opinions, Quince fruit gives out very pleasant and perfumy flavor. This fruit can be eaten raw just like apples and pears. The longer the fruit will stay on its tree the softer and sweeter it will get, but it must be picked before the frosting begins.

Quince Flower, image provided by Fir0002 at Wikipedia.People from around the world like to enjoy Quinces in jams, jellies, puddings, or sauces because of its strong pleasant flavor. Some people may prefer Quinces roasted, stewed, baked, or they’ll add it to their teas to improve the taste and scent. There were no human witnesses in the garden of Eden that are alive today, but some ancient history somehow suggests that after being tempted by the devil, Eve ate this Quince fruit in the Garden of Eden. In my opinion that forbidden fruit wouldn’t survive till today, because it was only one tree, it was forbidden by God, and I don’t see why He would destroy it after the human disobedience. The Nutrients in an average full raw without refuse Quince fruit are: Continue reading

Cherimoya Nutrients and Health Benefits

Cherimoya Fruit - image borrowed from WikipediaCherimoya fruit is also called Annona Cherimola. Its name means Cold Seeds, because Cherimoya shrub (or small tree) can live at high altitudes. Mark Twain called Cherimoya fruit as “the most delicious fruit known to men”. And many cultures used it as a decorative art on their ceramics and other creative ideas. According to some people, Cherimoya fruit is white, fleshy, soft, sweet, and also tastes like a mix of either, bananas, pineapple, pear, apple, strawberry, papaya, or even bubblegum.
